Jono and Marina
Jono and Marina
Jono and Marina had a beautiful wedding day! Jono is American (his family is from Alaska!) and Marina is Japanese, so for their wedding they met in the “middle” for an intimate destination wedding. Their day was focused on their fun group of friends and family along with an awesome custom menu catered by Connor and Frank from Kona Butcher shop.
We were worried that their July wedding would be rainy (as it rains pretty much every day in July), but the weather turned out to be beautiful! They had a traditional Hawaiian ceremony outdoors officiated by Kealoha Sugiyama. They also had local musician Tisa Kalili playing ukulele and her daughter performing hula.
I recommend that all of our clients set aside plenty of time for couples portraits with all of the flora and fauna around the farm, but with the rush of wedding days, rarely does anyone take my advice. However, Jono and Marina did, and their photographer, Karen Loudon, was able to capture so many sweet moments around the farm. There were so many that it was really hard to narrow down my favorites for this post!
You guys, isn't Marina such a stunning bride? I love that she selected a tea length dress too - so cute and practical for a wedding outside where the grass can be wet!
After their ceremony and tons more pictures, they sat down for a lovely Japanese-Hawaiian fusion tasting menu. And with perfect timing, the sun came through the clouds for a stunning sunset over the water! A beautiful end to a lovely day.
Jono and Marina you guys are awesome and your families are awesome! A huge Mahalo for choosing our farm for your special day.
